Black is Back!

Well this is the second year for high school wrestling and every year Dane and the whole wrestling team dye their hair BLACK for state. Dane gets so excited for the change but I dread it. Its not the going black its the getting it back to blonde. Last year it went blue, then red, then orange before getting it back to a golden brassy blonde. Which was not good but better than all the other colors. I also think I burned his he to death trying to get it blonde. I used like 4 things of bleach and hair dye before I was finished. So here we go again:( I think it might just shave it off this year. hehe

Frosty the Snowman

For the past couple of days it has been snowing like crazy. So Justin and Garrett went outside to make a snowman. But the snow wouldn't pack so they used a bucket to pack the snow. He is a cute snowman but he is leaning to one side so I don't know how long he will be standing in our yard. LOL

My New Favorite Cookbook!

My Mother in-law bought me this Good Things Utah Cookbook volume 2 for Christmas. It is awesome if you have a chance to pick one up I recommended it. I think she bought it online. What makes this cookbook so great is it is all recipes from local people and restaurants. I have made "Shabu" Simple Pot Stickers, Stuffed Meatloaf, Porcupine Meatballs, Chicken Stroganoff and Poppy Seed Chicken. I am way excited to try the whole book. Thanks Mom!! We love it!!

Garrett's Science Project

The big project in 6Th grade is the Science Project. We have been working on it for weeks and finally finished it today. Yippee!!!!! Garrett wanted to see which glue would hold the most weight. Super glue won holding 12.5 lbs.

WOW!! Last night was our region drill team competition. There were 6 schools in our region South Sevier, Manti, San Juan, Richfield, Grand and Gunnison. We took 1st in Military and Prop, 2nd in Dance. But we won the overall Region title!! Our girls rocked the house. We had a loud crowd to cheer them on. Now on to State!!

It's fun to watch your kids grow up!

Over the weekend the region middle school had the tournament at South Sevier. Dane was one of the referee's. It is so fun to sit back and watch your kids turn into adults. What a fun stage of life this is. Garrett wrestled in this tournament too.

Last night I went out to dinner with my friends for one of their birthday. Sonya's birthday is next week so we went to a local restaurant called the Sagebrush grill. It is the best steak house around. We had a great time laughing and catching up. Happy Birthday girl!!!

Drill team Competition @ U.V.U.

On Friday we went up to Orem for a competition. It was so fun. The girls did three dances Military, Dance and Prop. They took first in all three!!!!!! The team looked awesome and beautiful!! Grandpa and Grandma met us there. We also took Landon with us and he is now Brynn's new lucky charm! They put spray tan on all the girls so in the pic with Landon Brynn looks orange. Plus Landon has a black eye from Wrestling.

This is the Sensations Military dance. This is the one were the girls do the head stand. So the clip is of Brynn doing her headstand because she works so hard at it. This is at a home basketball game the other day. Brynn is the tall blond in the back.

New Years Eve Party

Every year Justin and I go to the Fire House for a big party with all the firemen. But because I can only sit 20 min. at a time we didn't go this year. So we stayed home and since we were home the kids wanted to be home with us. We started the night off with a nice dinner and I told each of the kids to plan a game to play. Dane and Cindy chose to play B.S. it is a fun card game. Brynn and Landon chose Bunko(they even went to the store and bought funny prizes) Garrett and Trevor chose Mad Gab. We had so much fun together and the kids didn't even mind that I spent all night in my p.j.'s. We laughed the whole night:) At the end of the night I realized I hadn't taken any pics. so we put the camera on the fire place mantle and ran back to our spot before it clicked and Justin kept yelling scoot over we are not all in. So we all are laughing even harder!!

Christmas Day

This is Christmas morning. We got up at 7:00 a.m. and told the kids they had 5 min to open all their gifts so I could go back to bed. Because it was the 2nd day after surgery and I couldn't sit down yet.

Well I made it!! It has been rough but i am going to make it :) I can only sit 20 min. at a time so I will start to blog slowly. My surgery went well. I was only supposed to be in surgery for one hour and a half but four hours later i got out. I guess I had a lot of scare tissue. But Justin is going to take out my stitches tomorrow:( I am not looking forward to that. But I am on the mend. Thanks for your prayers and thoughts.
